This work is an installation that was created as a major expression of the grief I felt on learning of the murder of a dear friend. In preparing for this work I constructed an installation based on my memories and perceptions of what life in Jamaica must be like. These thoughts, influenced as they were by conversions with my friends (especially Roger Desnoes and Gary Reade), formed a construction of Jamaica as a place in which it is no longer possible to continue your day-to-day activities with any reasonable expectation of safety. I must say at this point that this construction is my own. The views of Jamaica expressed here are not necessarily shared by any one else, especially Roger or Gary.
